He was entrusted with the difficult task of presenting the Athens Science Virtual Festival. Thanks to his positive attitude, helpful spirit, and friendly demeanors, Costis Economides did a great job! 

Below follows a brief introduction of our beloved ASF host!

Costis was born in Thessaloniki, in June 1983 and he studied at the Department of Cultural Technology and Communication of Aegean University. While studying, he worked as a journalist and a news anchor for the local channel “TV M” and as a radio producer on “Radio Aiolos” in Mytilene, thus gaining significant experience in the field of Mass Media.

In 2011, he completed his postgraduate studies on “Advanced Computer and Communication Systems”, specializing in “Information and Communication Audio Video Technologies for Education & Production” in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

In the same year, he founded ONTIME Productions, a company specializing in audiovisual production, and he has been running it ever since. He is responsible for the planning and implementation of all the stages in the production of a project, contributing to the high-quality services provided with his knowledge, expertise, and experience.

As of July 2017, he is an authorized, certified drone operator, as well as operator trainer by the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority. He is a Ph.D. candidate at the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, researching how multimedia can help visually impaired individuals have a better education and a more fulfilling life. 

He is married to Elli Pavloudi, raising together three wonderful children: Ifigeneia, Milena and Giorgis. When not working, Costis loves to travel, be close to the sea, and to.. repair stuff!
