The Athens Science Festival with activities for teachers!

 Are you an educator and looking for your next driving force? Wondering what the Tomorrow of Science in Education will be?

 October 21st to 23rd, in the Technopolis City of Athens, the Athens Science Festival will be there with many events for Educators and not only.

Events that combine education with environment, music, technology, health and even astronomy. We have selected some of them to give a first glance of what is to come.

Saturday 22 October | INNOVATHENS HALL

The  education manager of Science United Project’s, Katerina Tsikalaki MScEd, will come and demonstrate to us how a science fair can act as a tool for the integration of displaced students, bringing together teachers and students from different educational environments, so they can learn new scientific concepts collectively and cooperatively. A celebration of science without borders | 16:00-17:30

Would you be interested in learning to design a satellite inside your classroom?

If the answer is yes, then you should participate in the seminar of SPIN – Space Innovation, so that students and teachers understand how to design effectively an educational satellite at school.  How to design a satellite! | 17:00-18:30

Pandora Sifnioti, the STEM Director of SciCo‘s educational programs, invites teachers that teach 5th grade to 3rd high school, who would like to learn about the European program Make it Open, that aims to Open schooling and become key actors of the community.

How could schools and teachers collaborate to create equal rights in science for everyone? Greek Women in STEM presents an interactive workshop and they envision what the STEM of tomorrow will look like. You & the Science of 2040 | 18:00-19:30

The Department of Mechanical Engineering & Aeronautics, of the University of Patras, will introduce you to the world of Prosthetic Engineering. The researchers present DEMOorDIE’s, open online educational platform, which includes a series of lessons, games and videos to introduce students to the world of 3D printing. The Institute for Language and Speech Processing of the Athens presents innovative and interactive STEAM tools. The STEAMmusic Research and Innovation Hub aims at Secondary Education students with the purpose of teaching Natural Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics through Music. The European Lab for Educational Technology, EDUMOTIVA will introduce you to the world of artificial intelligence and suggest creative ways to assimilate it to the school community. Artificial Intelligence at School | 17:00-18:30

Letters to Strangers Greece comes with a talk dedicated to the mental health of young people! The event addressed to parents and teachers, by adding good practices to reach out and help a student in need. “Break the Stigma: Mental Health & School” | 17:00-17:50 In conclusion, the head of support for Conferences and Events of the Eugenidos Foundation, Maria Drasioudi, will present a workshop that aims to raise awareness of the educational and student community around sustainable development. Through an experiential seminar, get to know the green generation, or Gen Green, and discover how you too can be a part of it, by changing your daily habits at home or school!
