Displacing Identity
Wednesday 30 April & Sunday 4 May: 17:30, external space of “Technopolis”

“We shape our buildings, and afterwards our buildings shape us”, said Winston Churchill. The displacement between our inner psychological space and the external spatial world is frequently subjective. This project explores the connection of architecture, psychoanalysis and dance; concepts of construction and deconstruction of the personality, integration and disintegration, the real and the imaginary.

Mecha/ Orga
Wednesday 30 April: 21:20, Θ1

Mecha/Orga is an experimental electronic music performance that aims to create an intense and submerging sonic experience. In complete darkness and with the use of a quadraphonic sound system, Yiorgis Sakellariou composes a sound work which is diffused in the space in real-time. The sonic material is based exclusively on environmental recordings of various sources – from ventilation drones and passing trains to waterfalls and insects – and has been recorded on several locations around the globe.

The secret of life – The double helix
Thursday 1 May: 21:00, Θ1

“What is the secret of life?”, “What is its essence?”, “What makes the living different from the not living?” Two men would do anything to find the answers to those questions. And we follow them in their search.
We follow James Watson and Francis Crick towards the solution of the greatest mystery. A unique race towards a discovery that changed the way we see Biology and that currently has dozens of applications in our daily lives.

MOLECULAR MIXOLOGY, Introduction of molecular science at Bar tending
Thursday 1 May: 21:00, amphitheater 984

The MoMix daily exploits various science aspects; food technology and chemistry are elementary sciences studied for the implementation of recipes and techniques. Information technology is a key ingredient to success as it accelerates processes, disseminates reputation and shapes character in the product. Science of Advertising and Public Relations is and should be a supporter of everyday human action and MoMix is a faithful follower of this view.

Sounds of Space
Friday 2 May 2014: 21:00, amphitheater 984

Planet Earth is a natural source of radio emissions, which surround us all the time. When we convert them to sound waves they can be detected by our ears. They are called “Earth Songs”. Pulsars are dense and highly magnetized rotating neutron stars. They emit electromagnetic radiation which may also be converted to sound waves. We have composed music using “Earth songs” and pulsar “sounds”.

Labirintus
Saturday 3 May: 22:00, amphitheater 984

The project Labirintus approaches the text of Sarah Kane “4.48 Psychosis”, suggesting a different psychological reading and is a study in the maze of the mind which is the environment that determines the musical part of the project. Psychological changes give life to the characters of imaginary musical theater, implemented on affective dimensions. In this psychological and musical utopia, there is no thought to causation, no linearity of time, there’s no room. Each concrete unit transformed into a possible experiential activated through participation itself and not by external observation of a labyrinth, which sometimes seems so distant, almost unfamiliar and others, both known and familiar … as our own brain.

The second project is based on developing an experiential interaction expressed through biosignals recorded by the performer and reflects the inner world in a sound view. Experiential stochasticity carries the “sound liquidity” and the continuing degradation/destruction in the foreground, making them key components of building dynamic work produced in an alternative perspective, that of enviomousikis (Biomusic).
