Eleni Bazigou is a visiting Researcher at the Department of Bioengineering at Imperial College London. She studied Molecular Biology at King’s College London (2002) and moved to the National Institute for Medical Research in London for her PhD on neuronal network formation (2006), where she received an award from the Medical Research Council for best thesis dissertation. She then obtained a four-year postdoctoral fellowship from Cancer Research UK to study the development of the lymphatic system and delineated common mechanisms of intraluminal valve formation in different vascular beds. In 2011 she joined the Department of Bioengineering at Imperial College as a Research Associate to study the effect of risk factors associated with hemodynamic forces on cardiovascular pathology.

Her research has been published in high impact factor international journals and she is invited reviewer in peer-review scientific journals. She has been involved with research outreach events for the communication and promotion of science since 2008 with lay scientific presentations and interactive experimental set ups to schools and the public.
