Vasia Aletra

Vasia Aletra is a Biology graduate of the University of Ioannina and she holds a Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, and Society studies from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She is a Career Coach and is actively involved in Women’s Empowerment initiatives. She has a passion for science communication and has delivered public speeches combining science, society, and awareness. She participated in the Famelab 2019 science communication competition held at the Athens Science Festival where she achieved the 3^rd place. Since then, she is devoted to science communication. She participates in podcasts and writes articles on science and society matters. In addition, she has been trained as a facilitator in offering women’s empowerment seminars to 50 young women through the two-year Womentors program offered by the Lambrakis Foundation. Her goal is to promote science and help people develop their skills and achieve their professional goals!

Since October 2022, she undertook the role of Volunteers Coordinator for SciCo and the Athens Science Festival.
