How much is many?
Never before in history, have there been so many people in Earth as right now. It took most of human history for our population to reach 1 billion and just over 200 years to reach 8 billion. During this workshop, students experience the changing pace of population growth by actively simulating the Earth’s population evolution over a 500-year span. Also they are learning what changes have occurred that enabled people to live longer lives, and they are reflecting on the challenges that would be caused by a larger population.
