Embark on a journey through significant and minor changes, through the stories of people and nations, from the Paleolithic era to the present day.

Theodoros Papakostas: Archaeologist, Author

Theodoros Papakostas is an archaeologist. He was born and raised in Thessaloniki. He completed his undergraduate degree in archaeology at the University of Reading, UK, and his master’s degree in prehistoric archaeology at the University of Nottingham, UK. From 2007 to 2010, he worked at the Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki, and from 2017 to 2023 at the Ephorate of Antiquities of Kilkis. He completed his PhD in classical archaeology in 2017. Since then, considering that science only has substance when communicated, and with a deep conviction that antiquity and the past in general concern us all and that knowledge of it is power, he created archaeostoryteller, where he conveys archaeological information in a simple, direct, and entertaining way to the general public. The activities of Archaeostoryteller include lectures and talks at universities and various institutions, as well as a regular podcast show. His first book on popular archaeology, “Does All Antiquity Fit in the Elevator?” published by Key Books, became a bestseller and won the Audience Award at the Public Book Awards 2021. It has been translated into 13 languages. His second book, titled “Archaeology, My Love…Come and Take Me from Here,” also achieved great commercial success and won the Public Book Awards Prize for 2022. In 2023, the documentary series “SAVED” was released on Cosmote History, directed by Lefteris Charitos, which describes the entire journey of ancient texts and how they were saved from antiquity to the present day, as well as the children’s edition of the first book, titled: “Kids, Does All Antiquity Fit in the Elevator?” a simplified and enriched version specially designed for children with rich illustrations.
