At Athens Science Festival 2022 we have the honor to welcome Alessandra Mazzai, communications officer at the CMCC Foundation – Euro-Mediterranean Center for Climate Change who will talk to us about Climate Change.
In her article in Climate Foresight last March, she pointed out that complex problems, such as the climate crisis, need solutions. Climate solutions require knowledge and information derived from science and data.
Do we have what it takes to manage rapid climate change? What could contribute to improving the existing situation? What each of us individually could do to fight climate change?
Very different worlds would result from either prompt and strong action, which would succeed in keeping temperature rise below twο degrees, or giving up the challenge, which would bring up to over four degrees of warming.
Alessandra Mazzai, in her very topical, yet interesting, talk with the title “Are we prepared for change?” will tell us about how the climate is changing due to human choices in the past, but also in the present, and how what we do today has the power to shape many possible futures.
In addition, it will analyze how communication can fill the gap between knowledge and action to move rapidly along the more favorable path because what is needed is a pervasive change of our societies, and not for the good of the planet, but because climate action pays off for everyone.
