The new era of creativity and creativity in the new era

“The principle goal of education is to create men and women who are capable of doing new things, not simply repeating what other generations have done.”, wrote Jean Piaget. “Education must produce men and women who are creative, inventive, and discoverers”, he concluded.

The saying of the great philosopher and natural scientist seems to inspire the educational reform that is attempted in recent years. At the heart of this reform is the combination of science with art and new technologies, which is expressed by the term STEAM. This comes from the addition of Arts to the STEM acronym (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths).

The aim of this initiative is to maximize the participation and motivation of pupils’ interest in these subjects, to increase their creativity, to encourage the birth of new ideas, and ultimately to bridge the gap between scientific and educational subjects.

This year’s festival will host a very interesting discussion with the participation of academics and researchers. The round table includes: Manthos Santorinaios : Professor at Athens School of Fine Arts, Dimitris Charitos: Professor at Athens University, Vassileia Christidou: Professor at the University of Thessaly, Angelos Alexopoulos: Education and Outreach Officer at CERN, Chryssa Papasarantou: PhD Candidate at the School of Architecture at the University of Thessaly, Moderators: Anastasia Zoi Souliotou: Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Thessaly and Member at the Onassis Scholars Association, Anna Chronaki : Professor at the University of Thessaly

In addition to the interesting discussion about the benefits and new possibilities offered by STEAM practices, research, workshops and works of art and technology will be presented at this table.
