“Tales of Change”: Exciting stories of science, technology and innovation are coming to the Athens Science Festival 2024 at Technopolis City of Athens
Athens Science Festival celebrates its 10th anniversary by narrating captivating “Tales of Change” that shape our present and envision the future.
April 16-21, 2024
New decade, new chapter! As the Athens Science Festival reaches its 10th anniversary and invites the visitors to join in celebrating this significant milestone and to embark on an exhilarating new journey in its history, themed “Tales of Change”.
Staying true to its mission of bridging science and everyday life, the Athens Science Festival (ASF), with the support of COSMOTE as the Platinum Sponsor, this year is set to take place from April 16 to 21 at Technopolis City of Athens. Through the “Tales of Change” it has collected, tales that connect and inspire, this year’s festival focuses on the most critical challenges of our time.
How can artificial intelligence be leveraged to combat the climate crisis? Is achieving sustainability a realistic objective in today’s technologically driven industrial landscape? What are the genuine risks associated with climate change, and how can we, as a global community, effectively respond? In what ways are technological advancements impacting human health, including disease prevention and treatment? Additionally, what ethical considerations arise in the application of technology for the betterment of humanity?
In a world that is constantly evolving in dramatic and unceasing ways, the Athens Science Festival 2024 will unveil authentic “Tales of Change”. These stories reflect the latest breakthroughs in science, technology, and innovation, which are shaping both our present and future.
The festival will feature a rich array of interactive exhibits, stimulating experiments (spoiler alert: Ray, who holds a Guinness World Record, will create the largest bubble ever made in Athens), and hands-on workshops suitable for both children and adults. Additionally, there will be keynote talks and experiential activities that form the essence of this grand six-day celebration. Renowned storytellers will be present to captivate attendees with their unique “Tales of Change” creating an exceptional chapter in the ASF that beautifully melds education with entertainment.
Two of the most inspiring speakers of ASF 2024 will be:
Dr Jill Tiefenthaler, CEO of the National Geographic Society and Leader of a global community of explorers and scientists from diverse fields who strive to protect and further illuminate the ever-changing narrative of our planet.
Dr Lars Rasmussen, Co-founder of Google Maps and former Director of Engineering at Facebook, among others. He is one of the most dynamic angel investors, who participates in the global technological narrative as a digital nomad from Greece.
If you want to showcase and narrate your own Tale of Change, during ASF 2024, you can submit your application here, until February 15. On the other hand, if you wish to participate in our tale as a volunteer, you will find an application here.
Join us in the heart of Athens, at Technopolis City of Athens, on April 16-21, to celebrate ASF’s 10th anniversary and create a new, exciting chapter in science storytelling together!
