Manolis Dermitzakis | Us and our genes

13 February, 2018

An exploration into the secret passages of our “genetic identity” was promised to us by Manolis Dermitzakis, Professor of Genetics in the University of Geneva, School of Medicine. Studying thousands of human genomes from around the globe, Manolis Dermitzakis does not limit his research in identifying unique genetic backgrounds across different human populations, but identifies how genetic differences can make us more vulnerable to certain pathologies. How far away are we from the point when doctors will treat us based on our genetic identity?

Emmanouil (Manolis) Dermitzakis is currently a Professor of Genetics in the Department of Genetic Medicine and Development of the University of Geneva Medical School.
