Steve Wolf | Stunt Science: The STEM behind movie stunts and special effects

6 March, 2022

Did you know that Hollywood stunts and special effects can teach us a lot about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)?

Steve Wolf, president of Wolf Stuntworks and founder of Science in the Movies, is an expert in capturing kids’ attention and helps them to master STEM skills by studying the various stunts and special effects of today’s movies.

“The biggest thing you can do for a student is to foster their sense of curiosity,” says Steve, who worked on films including The Firm, The Last Boy Scout, The Client, The Jungle Book, and Cast Away; and such TV productions as Law & Order and America’s Most Wanted.

With more than 30 years of Hollywood experience, and 28 years of teaching STEM, Wolf is featured in this year’s Athens Science Festival to reveal the fascinating ways science is used to make movies even more enjoyable and impressive.
