A Grand Premiere and the National Geographic Screenings Program!

10 April, 2024 News

Want to see the world through the eyes of a National Geographic Explorer? The exploration stories will culminate with National Geographic documentaries. Screenings for school visits to the Festival include episodes from the series “Secrets of the Elephants” and “Secrets of the Whales” while on Wednesday at 21:30 in the “Miltiadis Amphitheater”, the avant-premiere of the new documentary series “Secrets of the Octopuses”, narrated by Paul Rudd, will take place. In every ocean, beyond our shores, lives an animal with – what we consider – “human” characteristics. Intelligent, social, curious, kind, and wild, it builds cities, uses tools, and collaborates with other species to hunt. In its species, one can encounter many personalities; some are bold, others shy. These animals can change their skin color, texture, and shape in the blink of an eye and see far beyond our vision.

Recent research confirms the consciousness of octopuses, their complex decision-making, and their unique personality. In tropical reefs, cold waters, from the coast to the open sea, and everywhere in between, the octopus is at home. Join us as we unveil the “Secrets of the Octopuses.” The series will be available from April 22 on National Geographic Wild and Disney+ in Greece. The documentary series “Secrets of the Elephants” and “Secrets of the Whales” are now available on Disney+.
