10 April, 2024 News

Ars Electronica Solutions will be participating in this year’s Athens Science Festival 2024 with the support of the Austrian Embassy, focusing on the themes of Science Experience and Sustainability Thinking. Its contribution includes a presentation on “Sustainability Thinking” and a live demonstration of the Global Shift BCI science project.

Sustainability Thinking is rooted in art and design approaches that are synonymous with Ars Electronica and serves as a creative method for developing sustainable strategies for individuals and businesses. The presentation by Harald Moser, Head of Science Experience, will introduce the approach taken by Ars Electronica Solutions and present numerous examples of projects carried out in cooperation with ESA. It provides insights into Earth observation and offers a live demonstration of the “Earth from Space” installation as part of the Science Experience. The live demonstration of the Global Shift BCI project, a brain-computer interface neuro-performance by Erika Mondria, PhD Researcher, explores participants’ brain responses to images related to global change using neurodevices. The goal is to raise awareness of these changes.

Ars Electronica Solutions designs, creates and implements interactive and multisensory experiential environments with a focus on science experience and sustainability thinking. In collaboration with scientific institutions, Ars Electronica Solutions creates immersive experiences that convey knowledge. The Science Experience engages people of all ages and backgrounds through engaging approaches to science, effectively communicating complex issues and raising awareness of their importance. Sustainability Thinking is defined at the intersection of art, technology, science, society and business.
