“The Farthest”, a film about the most imaginative and ambitious project in human history is premiered at the Athens Science Festival!

In 1977 a team of great NASA scientists launched the Voyager spacecraft, which, with a computer memory of less than 1 / 260,000 of a modern mobile phone, began the exploration of the farthest areas of our solar system.

Since then, the Voyager sends outstanding visual material to the Earth from places that humans has never reached, such as from planet Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, and Jupiter. The spacecraft carries the most important elements of human civilisation. Thousands of years later, when the sun of our solar system will no longer shine, this small spacecraft will remain the last indication that there was once human life on our planet.

The curiosity, the amazement and the mystery we all feel every time we raise our eyes to the endless sky is the heart of this exciting space exploration film. Join us and follow Voyager on its fascinating journey with 60,000 km/h!

Preface from the distinguished Greek astrophycisist, Stamatios Krimigis.
