How can an artist collaborate creatively with Artificial Intelligence? “Only on equal terms” indicates the poet, photographer and filmmaker Vangelis Evangeliou who is coming to the Athens Science Festival with OFFshoot. A photo exhibition that captures with the honesty of the lens and the mechanical imagination of artificial intelligence, the ethnographic project Chiography.

Chiography emerged after Vangelis Evangeliou’s two-year stay in Chios, and is a photographic project created with ethnographic methods. The artist, that is, systematically studied and observed the inhabitants and the environment, living on the North Aegean Island for 730 days, from 2022 to 2024.

Returning to Athens and opening his notebooks, he combined his experiences with Artificial Intelligence and thus OFFshoot was “born”: A poetic dialogue between emotional and artificial intelligence. An original photo exhibition that captures the Tale of Change of Vangelis Evangeliou.
