Driven by the mission of the National Geographic Society, Dr. Tiefenthaler leads a global community of explorers and scientists from various fields who strive to illuminate and protect the wonder of our world. And drawing from the history of this global non-profit organization, Dr. Tiefenthaler will share with us her vision for building its future legacy, using science, storytelling, and education as tools, and its historical exploration expeditions and award-winning films as vehicles.

About Dr. Jill Tiefenthaler
Dr. Jill Tiefenthaler is the first female CEO of the National Geographic Society. She also sits on the Society’s Board of Trustees and the board of National Geographic Partners. Before joining National Geographic, Dr. Tiefenthaler spent nine years as the president of Colorado College. She attended Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, IN. She received her M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from Duke University.
