The Czech Centre Athens brings to the Greek capital one of the most impressive exhibits of planet Earth. Festival visitors will have the opportunity to reflect on whether we are taking adequate care of our Earth and how we can change our behavior and attitude to maintain it in the best possible condition for future generations. The hosting of the Earth model is supported by National Geographic.

The 10-meter diameter inflatable Earth model was designed and constructed by the creative studio Visualové for the Brno Observatory and Planetarium. The companies collaborated for the first time in 2019 on a model of the Moon created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing on July 20, 1969.

This exact replica of the “blue planet” is a million three hundred times smaller. The images were taken during the autumn months, hence it depicts, for instance, snow in Siberia and Alaska. The creators also based their work on NASA’s database. The smallest visible details on the model are actually only 1 km in size.
