Jill Tiefenthaler, CEO of the National Geographic Society, along with distinguished National Geographic Explorers, are coming to ASF 2024

From the 16th to the 21st of April, the Technopolis City of Athens transforms into a vibrant hub of knowledge, creativity, and exploration.

On Saturday, April 20, Dr. Tiefenthaler, the first female CEO of the National Geographic Society, will share with the audience in Greece the exciting Stories of Change of an organization that has been continuously present for 136 years. Stories that are inextricably linked to the past, present, and future of our planet.

On Sunday, April 21, she will join a group of distinguished National Geographic Explorers in an unexpected panel that constitutes a real mission of the Organization on Greek soil. Lucy Hawkes – Physiological Ecologist, Nick St.Oegger – Documentary Photographer, Piero Amodio – Behavioral Ecologist and Evolution Scientist, Imogen Napper – Marine Scientist, Tom Matthews – Climate Scientist, and Theodoros Anagnostopoulos – Co-Founder of the Athens Science Festival and Science Engager, will take us from the depths of the oceans to the planet’s highest peaks, through their incredible experiences as National Geographic Explorers. Additionally, specially designed workshops will be offered to Athens Science Festival visitors who wish to connect with them and draw inspiration for protecting the natural environment.
